WHY PEOPLE SEE US

RELIEF CARE

Many patients initially come to see us as they have been referred by a friend, family member, colleague, GP, other health practitioner, teacher or coach. Most are in pain or have a specific complaint they are dealing with and seek our help to alleviate.

CORRECTIVE CARE

While we strive to relieve your condition as soon as possible, we also address the underlying cause of this condition. For example, if you are a headache sufferer, and have restricted movement in your neck, you may receive relief from your headache with an adjustment in that region. Your neck movement may improve but your headaches may return days later. Why? Because there are MANY causes of HEADACHES such as poor posture, food intolerances, dehydration, nutrient deficiencies, stress, digestive issues, infections, pathology etc. This is why we perform a very detailed history and examination to identify ANY causes or triggers and work with you to address each. This can take some time as we create new habits!

WELLNESS CARE

Wellness care may involve regular appropriate exercise, wholesome diet, time out and relaxation, emotional support and receiving chiropractic treatment. Many of our patients choose to continue care long term as they begin to recognise the early signs of dysfunction and wish to address the cause before it becomes a big problem. Wellness care is about keeping you in optimal health.

We aim to show you that you don’t need to live in a state of pain and dysfunction. We want people to return to see us, not because we tell you so, but because you can see and feel the changes taking place and you recognise the benefits of our care

What To Expect

Initial Consultation and Examination

Our initial visit is all about you! Our comprehensive consultation allows you to discuss your concerns, because talking often reveals much more than just filling in a form.

Your detailed examination includes :

  • Range of motion testing for all regions of the spine and pelvis, jaw, cranials, shoulders, elbows, wrists, hands, fingers, hips, knees, ankles, feet and toes.
  • Posture analysis, muscle function and strength using orthopaedic and kinesiology muscle testing
  • Neurological testing of cranial nerves, reflexes, balance, co-ordination and sensory function (vision, smell, hearing, taste, touch) proprioception and vestibular function.
  • Review of all your body systems.
  • Discuss your current health concerns and most importantly, your health goals.
  • Referring you for further testing (if required)

This appointment is approximately 40 minutes in duration and includes treatment (if clinically indicated and it is appropriate for you).

Please wear comfortable clothing which allows you to move freely.

Treatment and Care Plan

Your care is individual. We will be honest as to whether we can help you. We will discuss all treatment options, so you understand not only what we are doing but why, how we will go about it and how long we expect it to take.

A standard session may involve a combination of adjustments, muscle releases, kinesiology, stretching, exercises, nutritional support and lifestyle advice.

We allow plenty of time each visit to “check-in” on your progress, reassess your current condition, provide your treatment, discuss expected outcomes, and explain any home care we recommend for you. We want you to be a part of your own healthcare journey, giving you the knowledge and tools to create long lasting change.

Standard appointments are 15-20 minutes in duration. Longer appointments (30 minutes) are available on request at time of booking.
